Almond Butter Smoothie

This almond butter smoothie is perfect after a morning workout or while you prepare  breakfast, get ready for work, etc.  Its also an easy afternoon pick me up that feels like dessert and leaves you energized enough to finish off the day strong.  It’s not always about cooking up a storm and having a full table.  Making a smoothie is an easy way to make a healthy choice when you’re in a rush and helps you stay fueled and motivated for the next meal.

Healthy breakfast smoothie

I wanted to include more items for the plant based corner of the website without getting too far away from classic favorites.  Most smoothie bowls sneak vegetables in but to make this simple and easy we left them out.  However, adding butternut squash or carrots enhances the color and nutrition.  Feel free to add a few tablespoons of coconut oil if you want this to be packed with healthy fats – see our page about them here.

Vegan smoothie (dairy free – paleo friendly version)

Many of the recipes in the dairy free sections include milk.   But, you’ll find almost every recipe calling for milk meaning milk of your choice of milk because there are so many options its easy to add in your version.  We share a few options such as the homemade almond milk which blends perfectly into the smoothie!  The reason this recipe fits into so many categories is because we want everybody to enjoy our easy healthy recipes regardless of where you are in your transition to a healthy diet.

Top your almond butter smoothie with cinnamon and/or cacao nibs or any chopped nuts.

GAPS diet smoothie

Our kinda easy recipes are meant to help you make healthy choices regardless of dietary restrictions or special diet choices.  If you’re following a protocol such as GAPS or SCD, and have introduced raw milk and yogurt use your homemade yogurt in this smoothie!  Raw cream, milk, and 24 hour fermented yogurt in this smoothie make it the complete healthy smoothie that it is.  A pro tip for gaps smoothies: pop an unpasteurized egg in there!  Only do this if you have access to fresh eggs that are pastured (pasture raised/ grass fed chickens).
